About
Alison Pilon Nokes (b. 1987, Hartford, Connecticut) received an M.F.A. in painting from The Savannah College of Art and Design in 2020. She received a M. Ed in art education from Lesley University in 2012 and a B.A. in art history and studio art from Bowdoin College in 2009, through the course of which she studied in Rome, Italy. Today, when not dabbling in crafts and mixed media endeavors, Nokes paints abstracted imagery derived from her everyday life. Her works are bright, energetic images that are formed as she processes what it is like to be in her world.
Since August 2021 she has been teaching upper school visual arts at The Harvey School in Katonah, New York. In addition to instructing a variety of traditional art courses, she is the chapter sponsor for the National Art Honor Society and a pilot teacher of the innovative, interdisciplinary Common Ground course. Nokes resides in Ossining, New York with her husband, infant son, and two cats.
